Dearborn Homepage CompTahoe Partners brought me on to help them with Dearborn National’s new site. Responsibilities included creating robustly designed comps for the web in Adobe Illustrator which are fully layered and ready to be implemented. I was then asked to convert said comps into Adobe Photoshop documents for the front end development team to cut and implement. Web Design Proposal for Global Authority Inc.

GA Comp 1In this freelance operation, I was asked to create several web comps for Global Authority Inc, an authentication services company specializing in sports trading cards. They wanted a professional look while still showing off the sports theme of the site. Using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and a few references from the client, I came up with this design and a couple of others.

The site was meant to have a splash media area which I decided to go with a lone baseball with a slick background. The splash they ended up going with (pictured below) I based off of this design. Please note that due to lack of Identity at the time of creating this site, I mocked up the logo at the top as well.

Skillrazor Design Proposal

skillrazor_web3

Here’s a design I comped up for the guys over at SkillRazor. It’s based off of what they already had at skillrazor.com. I’ve rescaled the site to be more information friendly and less flash dependent. The flash that was there seemed hardly necessary so I streamlined that section to be less prominent and more informative. I was keeping with a professional vibe wile still pushing a feeling of freshness and sharpness. This partiular comp is unfinished.

BuyFlipRent.com Web Design

buyfliprentcom

This site was designed for SkillRazor from the ground up. Working with a team of Ruby on Rails developers from SkillRazor and Obtiva, I was responsible for creating wireframes, designing the look and feel based on the clients desires, and implementing those styles in a Ruby on Rails environment using HAML & SASS. This also involved bug fixing in all major browsers including the dreaded Internet Explorer. This was additionally my first major introduction to using GIThub (a revision control system).

Integrated Innovations Web Design

integratedinnovations

This is a site I did in collaboration with Luke Ratto for  Integrated Innovations under the name Pelu Design® (website coming soon). Based on Luke’s logo design and some direction from the client, we put this design together using Illustrator and Photoshop and then implimented it using Html, Css and PHP while utilizing a WordPress install as a content management system. We’ve also put a twitter feed into effect that streams the latest tweets from Integrated Innovations Twitter feed.

The Sudden Realization That We’ve Forgotten The Main Ingredient

Here is yet another T-shirt Design for Threadless. This one uses some of my hand drawn illustration techniques along with some photoshop editing. I went ahead and did another t-shirt mock up for this one. There’s also Desktop Wallpapers available at http://www.laserboltland.com.

An Extremely Shockingly And Distressingly Bad And - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

Here’s a t-shirt design I did for Threadless. This design was created in Adobe Illustrator and the mock up was created using Adobe Photoshop. I’m currently using cs3 until someone decides they would like to pay for the newest version for me. Thanks in advance. You’re very kind.

35 Flavours

35flavours_pistacio

Here’s a T-shirt design that’s on critique over at Threadless.com. It’s a hand drawn illustration that I drew on the #8 Halsted bus in Chicago.  The sketch was then brought into Adobe Photoshop and coloured all sorts of different colours. It’s the type of illustration that makes me want to spell color like this: colour. You know what I mean.

Here it is shown on a pastacio coloured T-shirt. Mmmmm, Pistacio. Go vote for it because I want to wear it. Thanks, you’re the best.

35flavoursHere’s the original sketch done with my very own hands and brain with a bic pen on some sketchbook paper.  Drawing on the bus is a fun challenge because it often causes squiggles in your lines. Neat.

I also love the discolouration of the paper in this picture. It’s mostly from a bad scanner. If anyone feels like buying me a new one, please feel free: http://www.amazon.com/wishlist/2NIBFJOYI7EGE.
